February Amythest Bracelet
New! In my shop.
Amethyst is the birthstone associated with February.
From Wikipedia: “Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz often used as an ornamental stone in jewelry. The name comes from the Ancient Greek a- (“not”) and methustos (“intoxicated”), a reference to the belief that the stone protected its owner from drunkenness; the ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst and made drinking vessels of it in the belief that it would prevent intoxication.”
Perhaps they should have been more concerned with the resulting hangover than the drunkenness.
This bracelet is comprised of a variety of differing shades of purple glass beads. The two large (14mm) beads are Amethyst. Sterling silver findings and clasp hold it all together.
The bracelet measures 7 1/2″ from end to end.
