More tricks up my sleeve
As a result of the metalsmithing classes that I took recently one technique that I really found intriguing was hand stamping and hammering. I purchased a few unique stamps which are 3 1/4″ tall steel tools that I then hammer into the sterling silver leaving behind a gorgeous and unique design. In the piece shown above I used letter stamps and a ball hammer.
On this piece I used a pansy stamp and on the backside I stamped initials of, in this case, grandchildren.
Another version with a daisy stamp.
I do plan on listing them in my shop but am presently out of supplies. Hopefully within the week.
Each pendant has a hammered border, they are oxidized and then polished for visual texture and are tumbled (in a rock tumbler with steel shot) to make them extra smooth and shiny.
The possibilities are endless as I’m experimenting with both earrings and toe rings!
Love them all… but especially mine. 🙂
Love them. Especially the one with all the pansies and the dainty pearl like bead.
I think Higgins will fit nicely!
It’s neat to do creative things; lovely necklaces.
