Breathtaking mix of frilly yellow blooms highlighted with dark purple picotee edges; also features almost solid purple and yellow flowers. Which is how this new variety of pansy is described.
I spied it for the very first time this past weekend at a local grocery store. I love pansies… they are one of the very first flowers that can be planted in these parts since they are very frost tolerant. With our recent stretch of 60+ temperatures, grocery stores and nurseries found themselves running out of pansies due to the high demand at such an early time of year.
I planted mine in two containers and around the mailbox.
Not sure what has this frog so down.
What really sets this pansy apart is the “picotee edges”. They are delicate and ribbon-like. Here’s a close-up.
My next garden/photo project is buds. Lilac, forsythia and magnolia are about to burst. We should have a sunny day soon and I will go in search of new growth.
