Picture Fall: The Rhythm of Repetition

All along the woodpile

Today’s prompt:

In any basic art or photography class, you learn about the effective use of repetitive shapes and/or form in art. When you distill things down to simple shape or color and then repeat it in the frame, there is a rhythm and a rhyme that is most pleasing to the eye.

Look for some soothing repetition in your daily routine to remind you how peaceful it can be.

This prompt was seeking a more uniform repetition but with having our first fire in the fireplace on Friday night and then reading this prompt Saturday morning my eye went right to the woodpile.

  1. That is something I’d really like to have in my next home – a true fireplace. We bought one of those electric ones with the fake flames for extra warmth and ambiance in our living room, but obviously it is not the same (far less work though!)
