Type A

Type A

Another beauty seen at Brimfield Antique Show. It prompted conversation between my husband and I recalling when we had typing class in high school. I particularly recall having a piece of paper taped to the brightly colored typewriter covering my hands so I couldn’t cheat and see the keys. I remember the instructor (Mr. Cuttita, sp?) chanting “A,A,A,S,S,S…” Little did we know how worthwhile that annoying class would be. Dating myself. :p

  1. I took typing in high school too – on an electric typewriter, and I remember using little plastic bits of correcting tape for mistakes! Ha! Even though I never studied a so-called business track in school, I knew taking that class would come in handy.

  2. I had typing class, too!! We had some electronic typewriters and some manual. I agree – I didn’t realize at the time exactly how important that class would turn out to be.

  3. LOVE the photo!
Do you think there are many kids who know what this is? πŸ˜‰
I never learned to type correctly, but I’ve had a computer for so many years that I do OK with my “hunt & peck”. At least I use more than two fingers (that’s what Greg does LOL)

  4. Ah, yes…typing class. I remember it well. I can type very fast because of THAT class. Had a great teacher who did the EXACT same thing with the paper over the keys. LOVE old typewriters but wouldn’t want to use them again! πŸ™‚
