A whole lotta Stella

You want me to jump?

Seems Stella has made her way into a lot of my photos so far in 2012. If you aren’t a fan of dogs my apologies.

Us

Seems she’s also made it into my heart.

Shadowboxing

What!? You say? You’ve had her almost two years!

Sweet feet

That’s just the way it works with me. She’s gone from a burden… chewing kids toys, limiting my time away from the house, biting and chewing all of us… to now being a favorite companion. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved her but now I really really like her.

Parting is such sweet sorrow

I remember the same thing happened with Logan who we had for 17 1/2 years. And, really, if I’m honest it happened with my kids too. Once the physical challenges of the first two years were behind us we could really enjoy each other, I could really enjoy them.

Faithful

It also helps that she’s such a willing companion for my photography habit.

A frigid but gorgeous Sunday

In this shot I was using the tripod and 10-second timer. I ran to position myself and she joined in the fun, even turning around to look toward the camera.

Endless Me

Another version in black and white (I was playing with the rule of thirds) and you can see her in the distance still running. At some point she turned around wondering why I had stopped.

Endless Me B/W

If you aren’t a fan of dogs just be thankful that you don’t follow me on Instagram where there’s almost always a daily photo of Stella.

Glum

Just look into those eyes, how can you resist?

  1. I like pictures of dogs, I adore them ! More please ! She have beautiful eyes. My favorite pic is the fourth from the bottom.

  2. So cute! I love these shots (but then you know what a dog person I am!). The shadow picture is really cool. I think it is nice that you can trust Stella to be out with you without a leash. I don’t think I could trust my two to pay attention to me if they saw something they wanted to chase. I recognize your location in on of those photos as the place we first met – and Stella was the reason I recognized you! 🙂

  3. What the heck are you apologizing for??? Please don’t apologize for your love of your Stella, I can understand the love because of Toby. And I got a giggle out of your admitting to liking your children more as they progressed out of the “needy” times. So true for me as well.
